What is WordPress?
WordPress is a multi functional, multi-site capable, content management system; a fancy and technical way to say the word more commonly known as “website”. WordPress is both the most advanced & user friendly open source website building software that I’ve used in my 12 years as a web designer, coder and website developer. Some of the companies that use WordPress to power their businesses online that you’ll be familiar with are:
And not to mention, my other favorite choices like Cutest Paw, Ariana Grande, Usain Bolt & even your good old boy Snoop Dogg 😉 Or if you prefer, Snoop Lion.
New Editor
The new editor is a big change from the previous editor we all knew. Placing everything into a “block-format”, the new editor is said to be streamlined, to quicken or ease the process of writing. It’s said that you’ll have more flexibility to place content, but in all honesty I prefer the classic editor, which is now available as a plugin.
Modular Page Editing
The block like editing experience the new WordPress provides is much like editing within a page builder, but with less options and less hassle. I could see the new editor being great in the case where the theme is specifically designed for the new 5.0+. Up to 5.0.3, I had problems displaying old themes and plugins, but it’s seemed to have worked itself out now.
Great Default Theme
2019 is a great theme, designed for the new streamlined 5.0 version of WordPress. As always, the theme lacks color and content, but that’s for the user or designer to put on the page. The developers that created the theme did a fantastic job.

Classic Editing
The “Classic Editor” is still available as a plugin from the WordPress repository. I myself prefer the classic editor as I use Visual Composer a lot.
